BIOGRAPHY
Roberto López Fuentevilla was born in Mexico City, being a child, had had contact
with plastic art. At first, showing an authentic vocation,
participated in drawing, painting and composition workshops.
Afterwards, he developed his artistical passion out
of the Academy in a self didactic manner, polishing
his skills studying Graphic Design.
Patient, tireless and good observer, López Fuentevilla,
finds in common life his inspiration. Landscapes, figures,
textures or even shadows are used to give a new meaning
to everyday life flowing into the paper all the passion
and power burning in his heart.
His steady and spontaneous
brushtroke displays traces that surrounds him, he celebrates
his passion for Impressionism.
Watercolor has been adopted by the artist as his mean
of expression, difficult technique that requires great
discipline and extreme materials acknowledgement.
All this joined to spontaneity resulting in a magic
act where colours and water converge giving origin to
plenty of sensitivenes and fresh works.
“Roberto López Fuentevilla combines
freshness of youth with mature talent, difficult combination
obtained by a plastic artist, but well performanced.
We have to add, to his undeniable gift, the long hours
of patient study and passionating surrender to one of
the most complicated in developing arts that requires
more maturing time and which goal, as great masters
say, is unreacheable.
Perhaps, his worthwile active is his creativity, the
domain of materials that soon or later, can be achieved.
Skill is also obtained with constance and patience,
but talent is unavoidable reflected in creativity, a
Divine gift what singularize his work, becoming differen,
unique.”

“My pictorial searching is not clinged to any
current or particular subject. I paint what I see, what
moves me, my challenge is to find and taking out beaty
of simple things. There is where my work essence is”
López Fuentevilla has had thirteen individual exhibitions
and has participated in twenty collective exhibitions
in Mexico, The United States and Europe. He is an active
member of the Mexican Watercolour Society since 2001.
